41st Dai, Syedna Abdul Tayyib Zakiuddin (R. A) (1193-1200/1780-1787) remained onto the throne of Dawat for seven years and passed away in Burhanpur. During his period Gaikhwar dominated over some parts of Gujrat. His started the traditon of Taqarrub after Salat.
His noble son, Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin ascended onto the throne of Dawat in a young age. He remained busy with guidance of Moomineen and spread of Ilm of Aale Mohammed. He endeavoured for their well-being in this world and in the next. During his period, Moomieen acheived significant development in business and became prosperous. The were respected by rulers and their officials.
Syedna Najmuddin went from Naga to Ahmedabad to do thee Ziarat of Doat Kiram. There, he ordered to rebuilt the tombs of Mausoleum of Doat Kiram. Then, he visited Surat and remained there for one years. In this year, the country suffered with severe drought. Moominee of diferent cities and towns came to Surat to the Hazrat of Syedna (R. A). Syedna Najmuddin spent thousands of rupees for the relief of Moomieen.
Then, Syedna Najmuddin (R. A) went to Burhanpur. There he held the marriage ceremony of his noble brother with the pious daughter of Syedi Jivanji. The marriage ceremony was attended by Maharaja Scindia with his army.
Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin (R. A) left Burhanpur to settle in Surat. On his way to Surat, he visited Poona where Moomineen had settled. he was received by Peshwa Madha Rao and his prime minister, Farnovis with a large retinue. He was escorted to the city with great pomp and eclates. The Peshwa presented him a village in Jagir. Syedna (R. A) declined to accept it, but on the insistence of Pashwa, he aceepted it for the sake of civility. Shortly afterward, however, he gave to the Minister as a gift.
Syedna Najmuddin (R. A) ascended onto the throne of Dawat at the start of 13th century of Hijrah and at the end of 18th century. 18th century was the century of revolution and many changeS were occuring in the last part of this century in political and economic fields in different parts of world including India. With the Taeed of Imamuz Zaman (S. A) he adopted Surat as a centre of Dawat. He purchased a large piece of land to buld a masjid, Madrasah and houses for Moomineen. There are many Hikmats (wise causes) in the adoptatation of this new centre for Dawat, but, an important one is that the coastal city of Surat was more suitable place to live in the changing scenerio of socio-political and socio-economic conditions in the world which were going to affect India and it's inhabitants in the coming years.
Syedna Najmuddin (R. A) was very generous and kind to needy people.
Syedna Najmuddin (R. A) pased away on 18 Jamadil Ukhra 1213 AH. His wealth was distributed among needy people according to his will, During the period of Syedna Yusouf Najmuddin (R. A), French Revolution took place in 1789 AD, feudal system was abolished, and Church properties were nationalised. Turk-Russian and Turk Austrian wars erupted during this period. In 1790, Washington DC was founded. In 1793, French king Louis xvi was executed. In 1795, Napoleon was appointed commander in chief in Italy.
In intellectual field, steam driven cotton factory was established in 1789, in Manchester. T. R. Malthus wrote 'Essy on the Principles of Population'.
