Syedna Abbas (R. A) remained busy with the protection of Shariah of Islam, Dawat of Iman, spreading of Al-Ilm and guidance of Moomineen as these are the prime functions of Doat Kiram. He refused to allow the persons who were not performing Salat, to see him.
In the early days of his period, Syedna Abbas resided in the fortress of Zimarmar, but, afterward he shifted to the fortress of Afaedah. Syedna Abbas (R. A) sent his Mansoos, Syedna Abdullah (R. A) to Hiraz to improve the bad conditions prevailing there. Beside improving the conditions, Syedna Abdullah took over the fortresses of Hamsa and Mahattah. The people of Shanasib had become corrupted and were trying to disseminate their false idaes to the Moomineen of other settlements. Syedna Abdullah (R. A) laid the siege of the fortress of Shanasib and conquered it. Due to the blessing of Syedna Abbas (R. A) efforts of Syedna Abdullah (R. A) conditions in Hiraz improved very much. During this period, violent battles erupted between different sultans and clans of Yemen. During the period of Syedna Abbas, Firoz Tughlaq was the ruler of Delhi Sultanate, and Bahmani Kingdom was ruling over Deccan and other adjacent areas. During this period Mongols faced their declined. Their vast realm that had been divided into four after the death of Genghis Khah became weakened and fragmanted and many parts of it were lost to others. Memeluks were rulers of Egypt and Ottomans were ruling over Asia Minor.
