Twenty fifth Dai, Syedna Jalal Shamsuddin (R. A) passed away after four monthhs. He appointed Syedna Dawood ibne Ajab Shah as his succesor and referred to Syedna Dawood ibne Qutub Shah as the successor of Syedna Dawood ibne Ajab Shah.
In the early days of his period, Syedna Dawood ibne Ajab Shah was molested by Muzaffer Shah 111 of Ahmedabad. He looted Moomineen's properties and tyrannized them in every way. Syedna went to Kapadvanj. Muzaffer Shah was defeated by Akbar in 979/1572 and fled to Kapadvanj. Thhere he was received by Syedna's representatives Syedi Kazi Khan and Syedi Khoj ibne Malak and was given presents on behalf of Syedna.. Later, Syedna invited him and his troops to his home and the latter repented his misdeeds observing this benevolence and lofty Akhlaq of Syedna Dawood (R. A).
Akbar went to Lahore, after appointing Mir Jahan. Mir Jahan also molested Moomineen for not consuming Ganja and Bhang. Moomineen did not obey him and bore all hardships as it was against Shariah. This tyrant deputy was instigated by Mohammed ibne Tahir Nehrwali. Syedna went to Agra to the court of Akbar, thence, the sedition of Nehrwali came to an end.
Syedna Dawood (R. A) visited Baroda and resolved the difference within the families of Moomineen. Moh Khan, the deputy of Akbar on Baroda harassed Moomineen. Salahuddin of Baroda threw Syedi Musanji ibne Taj in to a big pan of hot oil and fried him alive to death when he refused to tell the whereabout of Syedna. Syedna went to Khambat (Cambay). There, he received ten valuable shawls as gift from Abdul Rahim Khan Khanan Azam, who was very cordial to Syedna. He instructed the deputies of Gujarat to respect Syedna and Moomineen as they were well-wishers of the empire and peaceful people. During his stay in Khambaat (Cambay), Syedna Dawood was respected greatly by the Amir and nobles of the city.
After sometime peace was restored in the country under Mughal rule. Moomineen beseeched Syedna to visit their cities. Syedna visited their cities and towns where he was received with respect and pomp. Syedna ordered Moomineen to deliver the Azan loudly. He spread Fatimi lore among them, recognized their affairs and guided them to attain the prosperty of both world. In Umraith, he ordered to dug a seperate well for Moominaat and to establish a seperate portion for them in Masjid.
During the period of Syedna Dawood, Dawat spread in Sind. A large number of people including the head of Nizaris Sheikh Gori and two leading figures of Sunnis entered into the fold of Dawat. During that time a river in sind was dried and with the Doa Mubarak of Syedna Dawood, the river started flowing.
In Yemen, numerous lost fortresses were reconquered and a large number of lost Kutub of Dawat were regained during the period of Syedna Dawood (R. A).
During his period, Emperor Akbar conquered Bengal. Salim ii was succeeded by his brother Murad iii. Abbas i (1586-1621) became the Shah of Persia. Charles ix of France (d: 1574) was succesed by his brother Henry iii. Father Thomas Stephans, the first Englishman to settle in India seettled in Goa. In intellectual field, Tycho Brah, began at Augsburg construction of a 19 foot quadrant calestial globe in 1561. Galileo Galilei discovered isochronous property of the pendulum (in 1581)
