During the period of Syedna Ali, hostility of Zaidi Imam Ali bin Salah had been increased. Numerous Hudood Kiram who strived greatly to enhance the strength and glories of Dawat had already passed away. Many of the followers of Dawat had become sluggish of Jihad. At first Syedna had to hand over the fortress of Zimarmar to Zaidis as a result of peace agreement concluded beetween Syedna and Zaaidi Imam. Al-Malik Al-Nasir decided to assist Syedna with his army and wealth, but, he was diverted from doing this, due to the intrigues of his vazir Ali bin Husam. Then due to the conspiracy of some munafiqeen of Hamdan tribe, Zaidi Imam was stimulated to fight with Syedna. As a result, Syedna had to hand over the fortress of Afaeda to Zaidi Imam. Syedna Ali bore all troubles and hardships for the sake of Dawat. He shifted to Hiraz and settled in the fortress of Shibam. There he remained engaged with the guidance of Moomineen. During the period of Syedna Ali, Fitnat (sedition) of Jafer took place in Gujrat (Hind). Jafer with the help of Mahmud Shah of Ahmedabad, ruthlessly molested Moomineen. They were harassed, tortured, and slaughtered. Their children were massacred before their eyes, there masjids were taken away, and they were forces to abandon their faith. At this tragic juncture of Dawat's history, Maulaya Hasan and his pious son, Maulaya Raj endeavoured ceaselessly to protect Dawat and to prevent Moomieen from going astray.
During this period, Sayyids were ruling over Delhi Sultanate.
