Tenth Dai, Syedna Ali (R. A) remained onto the throne of Dawat for four years. Eleventh Dai, Syedna Ibrahim (R. A) was handed over the fortress of Afaeda by Al-Sheikh Husain ibne Hijaf Al-Hatimi and his son Shahwan. During this period, fierce fighting remained continue among the sultan of Sana'a, Ashraaf, and Zaidi Imam. People suffered greatly, and agriculture and settlements were destroyed. This terrible and unstable conditions weakened the enemies of Dawat and drew the people, particularly the Hamdans around Syedna (R. A). Due to this unstable codition and because of other Hikmats, it became necessary for Doat Kiram to conquer fortresses and to keep hold over them for the safety of Moomineen and protection of Dawat. Syedna Ibrahim's son, Syedna Ali took over the fortress of Kaukaban in 725 AH. Hearing the news of this conquest, Zaidi Imams Mohammed ibne Motahhar came with a huge army to fight with Syedna. A man informed Syedna (R. A) about Zaidi's approach toward Syedna's fortress.when he was in his Mahrab after Salat ul Fajar. Hearing this, Syedna (R. A), Syedna calmly replied that his reliance was upon Allah. Very soon, it was known that the army of Zaidi Imam had been dispersed due to some differences that erupted between Zaidi Imam and Ashraaf. Hence Zaidi Imam had to retreated.
During the period of Syedna Ibrahim, Ottoman empire was founded (in 1288 AD). In 1291, Memeluks conquered Acre ending christian rule in the east. Jalaluddin Khilji captured the throne of Delhi (in 1290). He was murdered in 1296 and Alauddin Khilji (1296-1316 AD), a bold, ambitious and ruthless ruler became the Sultan of Delhi. After some period of his death, his governor on Punjab, Ghiasuddin Tughlaq (1320-1325 AD) became the sultan and founded Tughlaq dynasty. During this period, Lisbon university (in 1290), Orlean university (in 1301), and Rome university (in 1303) were founded. During this period, block printing practiced in Ravenna in 1289.
